EFMP Music Therapy - A Healing Art

Location: Soldier and Family Readiness Group Center

Music Therapy helps people of all ages achieve physical, social, cognitive, emotional and behavioral goals through actively making music! Guest speaker, Georgene Fayssoux, a board-certified music therapist, has extensive experience working with adults and children - who have various disabilities - find hope and healing through music. This will be an informative and interactive workshop that celebrates the unique abilities of each participant through music. 

Participants will:

• Sample music therapy activities (singing, instruments, movement)
• Discuss goals of music therapy
• Discover instruments, props and devices used in music therapy sessions
• Learn how parents and caregivers can use music purposefully to calm their loved ones

Open to DoD ID Cardholders and military Families with loved ones with special needs.
